Starbucks Location Shoot 星巴克外景拍摄

At the end of June 2013, we went on location to shoot three product shots for Starbucks. For the first of these shots, we really had to take control of our environment and used multiple scrims and blacks to block out and control the daylight. From there, we used various tungsten lights and reflector boards strategically placed to create our own subdued lighting to highlight the beverage.

Other than the stylist having to get each coffee just right, this was the trickiest part of the day because the sprinkles were very small and came out quite heavy. We tried multiple methods in trying to capture a graceful sprinkling effect including the use of grinded up coffee beans to make the sprinkle seem larger. In the end, we resolved in taking a separate shot using a higher shutter speed and a concentrated light (in the form of a snoot) to highlight the falling of the sprinkles. Using post-production, the falling sprinkles were combined in the final image.

2013年六月底,我们到一家星巴克实体店为星巴克拍摄三张产品照。在最初几张拍摄中,我们必须控制外在环境,通过使用许多的柔光布遮挡掉一些不必要的刺耳的阳光。在那里,我们使用各种钨丝灯并且策略性地变换反光板的摆放位置,打造出柔和的灯光来突出饮料。

正如下图可见,Justin正愉快的扮演着一位星巴克的员工,Scott也随之很巧妙的拍摄到他在冰摩卡上撒粉的摸样。这是一天当中最棘手的部分,因为粉是非常细而小的,一不小心就会倒出太多。我们曾试着用多种方法去捕捉到撒粉时所呈现的优美感,包括还尝试着使用磨碎后的咖啡豆,使得粉末看起来更大些。最后,我们通过使用更快的快门速度拍摄了单张照片以及一个长嘴灯罩强调撒下来的粉末。然后在后期制作中,将撒下粉末的这一蒙版添加到最终图像。

所有照片拍摄好后,Justin亲自清扫地上的粉末,履行他“员工职责”的义务。

WHAT: Morning Breakfast Promotional Shot: McMuffin

WHEN: January 2010 - This post marks the 4-year anniversary of this shot!

WHERE: Limelight Studio, Xizang Rd.

WHY: This was Limelight Studio’s first job with McDonald's as well as their first big product campaign shot. There were four product shots that took until four o’clock in the morning to complete!

HOW: For this shot, a mixture of tungsten and flash was used to keep the lighting consistent. What made this shot difficult were all the additional items that were involved in the image such as the wheat and eggs. The challenge was adding them without making the shot too congested or messy because then the eye wouldn’t know where to look. Therefore, finding a perfect balance where the props were beneficial to the image was essential.

FUN FACT: One of the lights we used for part of this shot was an every day flashlight/torch just to give a slight extra fill to the McMuffin.

拍摄缘由:这是Limelight Studio第一次为麦当劳拍摄也是我们第一次大型产品宣传拍摄。难度可想而知,因为共需要拍摄四组照片以至于到凌晨四点才收工。

拍摄方法:拍摄这张照片时,运用了造型灯和闪光相结合的方式来达到光线一致的效果。这样光线不会显得太突兀,而拍摄中十分困难的是需要每一被摄体都入镜例如小麦和鸡蛋等。而最大的挑战莫过于他们的摆放问题因为不想造成拥挤和混乱的画面感,因此找到一个完美的平衡是十分必要的。

拍摄花絮:我们用了一个手电筒作为一盏补光使麦满分达到更理想的视觉效果。

WHO: American Standard

WHAT: Appliance and fixture promotional shots

WHEN: March 2008

WHY: Limelight Studio was commissioned by Interbrand and American Standard to help create a campaign to feature their new fixtures and appliances. American Standard wanted to produce a light airy feel to go with the new advanced appliances that they created. Everything had to look fresh, crisp, and sharp.

HOW: For this shoot, we needed to create three sets entirely from scratch. A warehouse outside of the city was rented, giving us a blank canvas / space to create any feel we needed.

Limelight spent a month designing the layout of three sets, taking all aspects of the composition into consideration. The tree used in the 1st image was brought in to add to the naturalistic element and the crew created a water wall to produce the drizzling effect outside the window.

In the end, it required the assistance of a forty-member assembly crew over the course of three, twenty-hour days to construct the three sets and install the lighting and flooring according to our designs. From there, it was just the “simple” matter of capturing the vision we created through our lens.

FUN FACT: The image at the top was so well received that American Standard ending up using it for their global campaign, including billboards across China. Many of the images are still being used on the American Standard website to this day.

缘由:Limelight Studio受邀于Interbrand公司,为全球卫浴领先品牌美标拍摄新产品宣传照片。美标希望我们能拍摄出一种清新,光线通透的自然感觉使其产品看起来更加干净,冷酷锐利。

拍摄方法:针对此次拍摄我们创造了三种不同的空间设置,同时租赁一家仓库以获得空景,这样可以创造出任何我们需要的感觉。

我们花费了一个月的时间给这三套布景设计模板,并对其结构组成予以周全考虑。在第一张图片中设置了一棵树用来增加自然的元素,以及制造了一面水墙来彰显窗外蒙蒙细雨的感觉。

最后,我们通过四十个人员的协助,花费了六十小时来组装这三套布景,并安装灯光和地板。最终,只需要通过我们的镜头记录下这些布景就可以了。

花絮:最上面的那张照片得到了客户很高的评价,因此美标把它用在了全球宣传上,也包括了中国的户外展示。直至今日,很多照片仍然被用于其官方网站。
