Redleaf Women's Hospital 上海红枫亚泰妇产医院宣传拍摄


Last Summer, we shot a series of images for state of the art women's hospital, Red Leaf consisting of a series of lifestyle and interior shots. Their facilities are like a cross between a hospital and a high end hotel. Despite being right on Huaihai Rd, it still has the seclusion, privacy, and security of a remote location.

去年夏天Limelight Studio前往红枫母婴中心拍摄一系列宣传照片。经过一天工作,我们拍摄了一些医生与护士,并且也捕捉到了来这里享受服务的一些家庭。为了创造出一个清新干净的整体感觉,我们主要运用柔光箱作为主光源加上蜂巢作为补光点亮背景。

对于这一种类型的拍摄,我们必须保持耐心因为拍摄对象会涉及到婴儿宝贝而且拍摄空间有限。但是对于大人们拍摄就显得直截了当许多指导姿势也变得更加容易但对于小宝贝就显得有些困难。所以在此次拍摄中耐心是首位的,其次你要时刻保持注意力因为婴儿的表情转瞬即逝,要全神贯注地抓住婴儿的表情动态。

We lit this scene to appear like the daylight was beaming in from the windows. We took a little while to direct the doctor because in a real situation, she would normally lower herself to the eye level of the patient, whereas the varying heights were essential for the composition. Her professionalism as a doctor made it difficult for her to remember it was a photo as her reflex was to continue to lower herself to eye level with the patient.   我们照亮了这个场景,将整体感觉显得像是日光从窗户外照射进来的。我们花了一些时间在拍摄医生上,因为在真实情况里,他会自然的将他的高度降到跟病人的视线水平差不多低,而不同的高度又是必不可少的成分。他作为医生的职业性反射经常使他忘记这是在摄影,并不小心地将身子降低到与病患的视线水平一致。

Group shot - Redleaf requested bright/white walls, so we had to use a number of lights to light the scene evenly. As you can see from the behind the scenes shot, it was actually quite dim inside. Redleaf要求背景为明亮/白色的墙体,因此我们不得不使用许多的灯设置在每一个角落,让整体画面显得均匀。正如你所看到的左边这张幕后照,大厅里面其实是相当昏暗的。

We opted for a more high key lighting for this shot of a nurse looking on as a mother smiles at her newborn. We added in the table and plant in the foreground at the last moment in order to provide a little bit of depth and distance, almost as if not to disturb this intimate moment.  我们在拍摄这张时选用一种更高调光的手法,在最后一刻,我们在最前端的位置加进了一张桌子和一株植物,为了是提供一点点的深度和距离感,仿佛让人不要去打扰这个亲密的时刻。

Over the course of a few days in the month of June, we had the joy of taking a total of fourteen personality shots of the big personnel at the Jing An Shangri-La as well as eight product shots of some of the featured dishes from the various restaurants within the hotel.

As you can see from the numerous behind-the-scenes snapshots below, this was an exciting and interesting couple of days because we had the opportunity to meet and interact with the big personalities of the Shangri-La and capture them in their environment that best described them and their personality as well as the great work that they do.

Depending on the individual and the environment that they work in, we changed the lighting to accommodate the atmosphere we were trying to create around them. For example, we went for a moodier feel to represent some of the chefs at the 1515 West Bar & Grill by using soft box lighting down or a ring flash on the personality to intensify the overall feel of the photograph. Whereas, for the chefs of Café Liang, the goal was to have a bright open atmosphere therefore, we took advantage of the big windows and the enhanced the natural daylight feel.

正如你从下方的幕后快照中可以看到,我们度过了既开心又有趣的几天因为我们有这个机会与酒店里的员工交往并互动,再进一步了解他们后,才能在他们工作环境内捕捉到最能形容人物性格特点的照片,也能更好地体现出他们的价值。

根据每位员工以及他们所工作的环境,我们试图改变采光来打造属于他们的一个氛围。举例来说,在表现1515牛排馆的一些厨师上面,我们通过使用柔光箱将光线朝下,或是利用环形闪光灯在人物特写上面创建一些戏剧性的阴影,增强照片的整体感觉,尽力求得一种喜怒无常的感觉。

WHAT: Fashion and Clothing shots

WHEN: August 2009

WHERE: Limelight Studio

WHY: Japanese-style boutique clothing shop, The Source wanted a different and unique way to showcase their new pieces.

HOW: By using long shutter speeds and firing flashes multiple times as the model changed poses through one exposure, we were able to create the "ghosting" effect that makes it appear as if the model is moving. To produce the swirls of pinks and purple, gels were use on the flash. This combination created a distinct look, while showcasing the unique street-style that The Source supplies.

Sense of Touch Spa Promotional Shooting 日间水疗中心宣传拍摄

WHAT: Promotional images highlighting the award-winning spa

WHEN: October 2011

WHERE: Sense of Touch Spa located in Ferguson Lane

WHY: After successful openings in Hong Kong, Sense of Touch chose to break into Shanghai asking Limelight Studio to take their promotional shots for their new location in the French Concession.

HOW: Showing the peaceful and relaxing environment of the spa is key in these images. The lighting had to induce a clean, but warm feeling that radiated an inviting atmosphere. It was important for the client to include the package of bottles for their elite treatment, so we had to be sure to keep the table in focus enough to show the bottles without overpowering the rest of the image. For lighting, we used a softbox overhead to light the talent and another light to give a little kick to the background. We were sure to dial the power down in order to let a tiny bit of the ambient come through with the flickering candle in the background. Our talent had beautiful skin which enables us to do minimal work in post-production.

拍摄对象:宣传拍摄并获得最佳水疗中心奖项

拍摄缘由:在香港的开设大获成功后,日间水疗中心选择在上海法租界地区再开设一家分店并邀请Limellight Studio为他们拍摄宣传照片

拍摄方法:拍摄这些照主要是向观者传递出一个平静放松的感觉。对于光线的选择上需要传递出一种温暖惬意的感觉。对客户而言,背景中的瓶子组合展示非常重要,所以我们在拍摄时要确保桌子和瓶子达到统一效果,而在光线方面,我们用了柔光箱当作主光打到模特上面并用了另外一盏灯当作补光点亮背景。我们并精确把握灯光的强弱使得背景的蜡烛能够显现出来,因为我们的模特拥有十分完美的肌肤所以十分有利于我们的后期制作。

Tibetan Monk 西藏僧侣

WHAT: Tibetan Monk

WHEN: 2005

WHERE: Monastery in central Tibet

WHY: Tibet was another personal excursion for Scott, where he spent two weeks traveling across Tibet, stopping in local monasteries along the way. One afternoon, he came across a monk washing robes and various materials of cloth.

HOW: No lights were used for this shot, just simply a tripod. The afternoon light sweeping across the courtyard was sufficient enough. It creates an appealing shadow that not only perfectly lit the monk and the clothes but also produced an interesting and appealing shadow that added to the overall composition of the photograph.

拍摄缘由:西藏是Limelight Studio短途之旅的目的地,我们花费了两周时间游历西藏。某一天我们在一座修道院旁停下了脚步,只见一位僧侣出现正在洗涤睡袍和一些衣物。

拍摄方法:拍摄这张照片时没有用到任何闪光灯,因为拍摄时间不长。拍摄时,已是下午,所以庭院的光线相对充足。光线产生了一种奇妙的影子映衬在僧侣身上,与此同时与旁边零星散落的拖把相映成趣,构成了一幅生动有趣的画面。。

CLIENT: Interbrand for The Paragon by CapitaLand

WHAT: Promotional stills in conjuction with a TVC

WHEN: August 2010

WHERE: Various locations including Limelight Studio, El Patio Restaurant, and a nearby park.

WHY: Limelight Studio was asked to take promotional stills for Paragon Service Departments who were doing a TVC. While shooting on location at El Patio Restaurant, time constraint was a big factor. Scott had to shoot the talent in between video takes within ten-minute increments whereas for the silhouettes shots, time was more flexible but, there was no professional talent hired.

HOW: To shoot the silhouettes, a pack was used with a scrim frame. A bike was brought into the studio and then the second shot was taken outside at a park bench. Both shots were superimposed onto the background that was preapproved by the client.

FUN FACT: Justin is the man pictured in 'Bike Ride' and 'Park Bench,' while the Art Director of the shoot and another friend stood in as the female models.

拍摄地点:包括Limelight Studio在内的许多地方, El Patio餐厅以及附近的一个公园

拍摄缘由:Limelight Studio受邀为凯德集团旗下的茂名公馆拍摄剧照。当在El Patio餐厅拍摄时,少量的时间是一个事实。我们必须在广告拍摄间隙完成拍摄,时间只有十分钟。

拍摄方法:为了拍摄出人物的轮廓,我们用到了一组蝴蝶布。同时Justin和艺术总监同时入镜,与模特进行一些交流。影棚中还放置了一辆自行车因为第二张照片需要在室外拍摄,地点的选择是公园的长椅。两张照片与背景的关系十分清楚,层次感十足。

花絮:Justin作为这两张照片中的男主角同时艺术总监也参与了拍摄,而照片中的另一位女主角也是我们的朋友。

WHAT: Two children playing on the beach

WHEN: 1996

WHERE: Byron Bay, New South Wales, Australia

WHY: Not far off in the distance during a day of relaxing on the beach, Scott observed some children relishing the day, making new friends and scavenging for sea creatures. He caught this moment right after these two free spirited kids, who were catching and running around with crabs, tried to give one as a gift to two others who were fully suited head to toe. The fully clothed children shrieked and ran off, while these other two stood there, confused by the refusal.

HOW: This shot was all about being at the right place at the right time, capturing that special moment between two playing children. This is one of Scott’s first shots and one of his favorites. Compositionally speaking, it is balanced with the rule of thirds, which is quite difficult to do especially when trying to capture a moment between children, an environment you can’t control. The color tint comes from the tungsten film that produces a strong blue cast when shooting outdoors.

拍摄缘由:在沙滩上休息了几乎一整天,Limelight Studio团队发现有一些小孩正在沙滩上玩耍,他们正在沙滩上寻觅乐趣并找到贝克海螺一起玩耍。我们抓拍到了其中两个小孩,他们正在追逐嬉戏。只见两个小孩尖叫着互相追逐表现出彼此好奇的眼神。

拍摄方法:拍摄此张照片最重要的就是需要在合适的地点以及适当的时机。这是Limelight Studio所拍摄的作品之中最喜欢的照片之一。从构图中可以见得,整个画面感比较均衡,要想获得这种平衡感十足得构图需要找到合适的时机来拍摄,因为环境你无法控制。而在色彩上,因为使用胶片得关系所以有一种蓝色得调子。

CLIENT: Jazz du Funk (JDF), International Dance Studio

WHAT: JDF 2011 Calendar - Astrological Signs. The concept was to reinterpret the 12 Zodiac signs through the dancers of JDF. 

WHERE: Home of JDF's Art Director, Julian Mei

WHEN: December 2010

HOW: This shoot had special circumstances because the majority of the images entailed lots of paint and little clothing.  It required an intimate environment for the dancers and so almost all the images were shot in Julian's home over the course of two full days. Big sheets of black and white cloth were brought in for the background and also to act as curtains to provide a separate space for the photographs to be taken.

拍摄地点:JDF艺术总监—Julian Mei的家里

拍摄时间:2010年十二月份

拍摄方法:此次拍摄有很多特殊情况。首先是大多数照片都需要在家里拍摄完成其次,这些图片需要在一天之内完成,这就意味着一张照片只有30到45分钟的拍摄时间,因此每个人每件事都必须保持进度,各尽其所能在最快最短的时间内完成拍摄。大匹黑色及白色的布被当做背景同时也可以当作窗帘为拍摄提供一个独立空间 。这次拍摄需要为舞者提供一个私密空间,因为大多数照片需要大量人体彩绘和裸露画面。
